Martin Luther King Jr. delivers his “I Have a Dream” speech for the first time to a rapt audience in Cobo Hall, June 23, 1963. Part of the programming for the massive “Walk to Freedom” civil rights demonstration that drew over 100,000 activists into the streets of downtown Detroit.
