From the summary:
The National Compensation Survey has released a report on additional medical benefits not previously published in its recent survey of benefit provisions. The following are the 12 additional benefits included in this report: emergency room visits; ambulance services; diabetes care management; kidney dialysis; physical therapy; durable medical equipment; prosthetics; maternity care; infertility treatment; sterilization; gynecological exams and services; and organ and tissue transplantation. The findings presented include information on the coverage or exclusion of each of these benefits and the type of limits imposed on them.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 directs the Secretary of Labor to conduct a survey of employer-sponsored health plans to determine the benefits typically covered by employers, and to report the results of the survey to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This study was conducted at the request of the Department of Health and Human Services to supplement the medical benefit provisions regularly published as part of the National Compensation Survey’s (NCS) employee benefits program.
