They went from 1907 to not just the current lockout of Waste Management workers in Oakland, but to Iraq, and to healthcare, and Katrina, and outsourcing, and privatization, and the disappearing middle class, and the rising costs of education, and a good many other manifestations of a distinctly broken system. Labor is at the heart of so many of these issues, Zeltzer said; the problem comes when nobody can see those lines, and can't see how labor can fix things.
