Self-Scheduling for Nursing Assistants: A Pilot

Inundated by the types of workforce challenges that affect aging-services providers nationwide, this organization piloted a self-scheduling project for certified nursing assistants in one of its health centers. Frontline workers, initially skeptical, have embraced the concept and now feel a greater sense of control and self-confidence and enjoy the opportunity to better manage their personal and family schedules. The organization is enjoying reduced turnover and absenteeism as well.
