A major overhaul of the U.S. health care system is one of the goals of President Obama’s administration. In recent years, the nonpartisan Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) has published a number of studies that provide background to aid in following ongoing health care developments.

These include two studies about the tax treatment of health care benefits; results of EBRI surveys on consumer directed health care, and the confidence Americans express in their ability to obtain needed health care; an analysis of recent health insurance coverage trends; the savings needed to pay for health care in retirement; ERISA; and the future of employment-based health care.
